Idaho Town Hall Meeting Protests Turn Violent

Teresa Borrenpohl, a woman from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, has filed a lawsuit against Kootenai County Sheriff Robert Norris and a private security firm. The incident occurred on February 22, 2025, during a town hall meeting where Borrenpohl was forcibly removed by three security officers for expressing her dissenting opinion.

Borrenpohl stated that she was shocked to be dragged out of the public meeting by plainclothes men, despite her pleas to stop and identify themselves. The incident led to a police investigation into Lear Asset Management, resulting in six men facing criminal charges, five of which were associated with the company.

Following the incident, Coeur d’Alene city officials revoked the private security firm’s license. Borrenpohl’s attorney, Wendy Olson, described the event as “disturbing” and stated that her client’s constitutional rights were intentionally obstructed by public officials.

The lawsuit aims to hold Lear Asset Management and Sheriff Norris responsible for the violent events at the town hall meeting, with Borrenpohl seeking justice through the civil legal system.
