Cooper Flagg Enters 2025 NBA Draft After Historic Season

Duke star freshman Cooper Flagg, the 2024 high school class’s top prospect, is officially entering the 2025 NBA draft, according to a social media announcement Monday. Flagg, considered the prohibitive favorite for the No. 1 pick, had a dominant season at Duke, leading the team to a 35-4 record and a Final Four appearance.

Flagg averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, earning him numerous accolades, including National Player of the Year honors. His performance was consistent throughout the season, with strong showings in nonconference play and particularly in ACC competition.

The 6-foot-9 forward had a standout moment against Notre Dame in January, setting an ACC freshman record for points in a single game, before suffering an ankle injury that sidelined him briefly. However, he returned to form during the NCAA tournament, contributing to Duke’s Sweet 16 win over Arizona with a 30-point performance.

Flagg’s decision marks the end of his college basketball career, which was marked by incredible success and numerous individual accolades. His statement is met with praise from Coach Jon Scheyer, who described Flagg as a leader on and off the court. With Flagg entering the draft, the NBA world will be eager to see how he develops into an elite player.
