The Atlanta Hawks have begun searching for a new President of Basketball Operations after parting ways with General Manager Landry Fields. The team has hired Sportsology Group, a leading sports industry advisory firm, to lead the search process.
Fields’ duties as general manager have been relieved effective immediately. Onsi Saleh, who was promoted to the role, will oversee all day-to-day basketball operations for the team. Saleh brings extensive experience in the NBA, having spent three seasons with the Golden State Warriors and five years with the San Antonio Spurs before joining the Hawks.
The new general manager will aim to improve the team’s performance after a 40-42 record last season, missing the playoffs for the second consecutive year. Principal Owner Tony Ressler expressed gratitude towards Fields for his contributions to the franchise during his tenure.
