Heisman Winner’s Father Earning Clearance for Draft Day

Travis Hunter Sr., the father of Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Travis Hunter, has received clearance to attend the 2025 NFL draft in Green Bay. The decision comes after a three-year probation agreement stemming from a 2023 arrest that carried a 90-day jail sentence.

Hunter Sr.’s exception to travel restrictions was granted under terms of his probation, allowing him to be present at the draft ceremony and surrounding events. However, he will be restricted to his hotel and the draft grounds in and around Lambeau Field.

Travis Hunter, who won the Heisman Trophy in a historic dual role at Colorado, is projected to be selected with the No. 2 pick by the Cleveland Browns or third overall by the New York Giants. During an emotional acceptance speech in December, Travis Hunter praised his father’s support, saying “I know you wanted to be here and you can’t, but trust me, I got you.”
