Kit Connor and Joe Locke Star in Heartstopper Film Adaptation

Netflix has announced a feature film adaptation of the popular graphic novel series Heartstopper, with Kit Connor and Joe Locke starring in the final installment of their love story. The film will conclude the narrative based on the upcoming volume six of Alice Oseman’s graphic novels.

The movie follows Nick (Connor) and Charlie (Locke) as they navigate a long-distance relationship, with Nick preparing to leave for university and Charlie finding new independence at school. Their friends are also facing challenges in love and friendship as they grow up and move on.

Alice Oseman is thrilled to bring the story to a magical conclusion, saying she’s “completely overjoyed” and grateful to everyone involved in making this possible. Production on the film will begin this summer, with Locke and Connor serving as executive producers.

The movie picks up where the season 3 finale left off, after Nick and Charlie took a dramatic step in their relationship. The looming threat of Nick’s university journey and long-distance relationship was intentionally left out to ensure a high note for the TV show. Both Connor and Oseman agree that this ending works well for the series.

The first three seasons of Heartstopper are available on Netflix, and fans can look forward to the upcoming film adaptation. With Locke and Connor at the helm, this promises to be an emotional and satisfying conclusion to the beloved characters’ story.
