Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Mods Work with Minimal Effort

Bethesda has not officially supported mods for the newly released Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. However, some players have discovered that many mods from the 2006 original game still work in the new version with minimal installation hassle.

Tests confirmed by Ars found that older .esp mod files created years ago can be easily installed and function correctly in the Remastered game. In contrast to the original Oblivion Mod Manager, users of the Remastered version must manually download the necessary files, place them in a specific folder, and update a configuration file.

Despite this extra work, many classic mods from the 2006 original have been reactivated, including jokes that were previously only available on consoles. This news is a relief for fans who had hoped to continue playing with their favorite custom content after the release of the Remastered game.
