Iran-US Expert Talks Rescheduled to Saturday

Iran and the US will hold expert-level talks on Saturday, after they were initially scheduled for Wednesday. The meeting, which is part of indirect talks between the two sides, was moved due to Oman’s suggestion. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that a framework for a potential nuclear deal could be drawn up by both countries.

The decision comes after US President Donald Trump threatened to attack Iran unless it reaches a new deal swiftly. The talks will review experts’ work and assess how closely it aligns with the principles of a potential agreement. Iranian officials have insisted that their uranium enrichment program is peaceful, while seeking limited curbs on atomic activity in return for lifting international sanctions.

The rescheduled meeting marks a significant development in US-Iran relations, which had been strained since Trump’s decision to abandon a 2015 nuclear pact between Tehran and world powers. The Western powers suspect Iran of pursuing the capability to assemble a nuclear weapon, but Tehran denies this claim.
