As a father of a child with autism, I’m appalled by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s false claims linking vaccines to the condition. These assertions are not only misguided but also pose a significant threat to public health.
Kennedy’s comments rely on discredited theories and are being used to exploit families like mine for personal gain. The overwhelming consensus among major medical institutions, including the CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics, is that vaccines do not cause autism.
The real impact of Kennedy’s rhetoric lies in its ability to delay life-saving vaccines and stigmatize autistic individuals. I wear a blue wristband as a symbol of my commitment to fighting for truth, respect, and inclusion – something Kennedy’s actions undermine.
We need leaders who prioritize evidence-based solutions over conspiracy theories. My son deserves better, and so does our country. We must stand together against the spread of misinformation and protect the well-being of families affected by autism.
