NFL Scouts Weigh in on Shedeur Sanders’ Attitude and Abilities

Shedeur Sanders, the highly touted quarterback prospect from Colorado, is facing criticism from anonymous coaches ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. One coach described his formal interview as “the worst” they’ve ever been in, citing his entitled attitude, poor body language, and tendency to blame teammates.

However, not all scouts share this harsh assessment. An AFC executive echoed a more neutral sentiment, saying Sanders’ interview didn’t go well. In contrast, an NFC scouting director noted that while Sanders is not bad, he may face a culture shock in the NFL locker room due to his insulated upbringing and lack of experience with adversity.

Shedeur’s father, Deion Sanders, has also weighed in on the criticism, calling it “laughable” and attributing it to people who don’t understand him. As Shedeur’s coach at Jackson State and Colorado, Deion is not an impartial observer, but his endorsement may carry some weight with NFL teams.

Despite these mixed opinions, Shedeur Sanders remains the consensus No. 2 quarterback prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. While he needs a good supporting cast to thrive, falling into the first round might be a major disappointment if it means dropping out of the top-15. A team with a solid coach and infrastructure could provide him with the guidance and structure needed to overcome his perceived weaknesses.
