The New York Times Adds Two Co-Hosts to Podcast ‘The Daily’

The New York Times is expanding its flagship podcast “The Daily” by adding two new co-hosts, Natalie Kitroeff and Rachel Abrams. According to a memo sent to staff, Kitroeff will join the show in June after previously serving as the Mexico City bureau chief for five years, while Abrams will begin immediately.

Kitroeff’s expertise on trade, border politics, and immigration laws is expected to be invaluable during crucial news moments. Abrams, who covered the #MeToo movement and wrote a book about the media empire of Redstone Family, brings her own set of skills and experience to the show.

The addition of multiple hosts has allowed “The Daily” to experiment and innovate in ways that will make the show even stronger, according to Deputy Managing Editor Sam Dolnick. Abrams and Kitroeff are seen as a perfect fit for this new chapter, with their fearless reporting and passion for audio storytelling.

Kitroeff’s background includes award-winning reporting on the American economy and her ability to bring complex topics to life on “The Daily”. Abrams won a Pulitzer Prize for exposing sexual harassment and misconduct in 2018. Both journalists are expected to enrich the show’s content and attract new listeners.
