Marvel Studios has finally revealed the villainous form of Galactus, the gigantic space god from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. In a new promo art image, Ralph Ineson’s likeness can be seen wearing an armor reminiscent of Celestian design, giving fans a glimpse into the comic book-inspired character.
Director Matt Shakman explained that prioritizing Galactus as the lead villain was crucial to the film’s narrative, allowing them to take a fresh approach without delving into origin stories or featuring the usually powerful Doctor Doom. The team aimed to capture Galactus’ essence by using practical effects and a fully realized costume.
Pedro Pascal will portray Reed Richards, while Vanessa Kirby will play Sue Storm. Newcomers Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will take on Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm respectively. Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne have also been cast in mystery roles, with rumors surrounding Robert Downey Jr.’s appearance as Doctor Doom.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to release in theaters on July 25, 2025, bringing the classic characters to life in a new, retro-futuristic world.
