The discovery of a mysterious will by tech mogul Tony Hsieh has raised questions about the key figure involved, Pir Muhammad, who is not recognized by anyone familiar with Hsieh’s life. The will, dated March 13, 2015, names Muhammad as executor alongside Robert Armstrong and Mark Ferrario.
According to court documents, the will was found in late February among personal belongings of the late Pir Muhammad, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. However, despite extensive research, no information could be linked to Muhammad, including property records, court records, or business-entity registrations.
The Southern Nevada Health District did not have a record of death for Clark County under that name. “No one knows who he is,” said an anonymous source familiar with Hsieh’s life. The will’s discovery has added complexity to the probate case in Las Vegas, involving lawsuits and creditors’ claims, as well as details about Hsieh’s drug use and erratic behavior.
A hearing is scheduled for May 22 to address the will. The will was lodged with Clark County District Court on April 2. Attorney Brooke Borg noted that there is no requirement to notify individuals named in a will until after their death, but it would have made sense for Hsieh to inform his choices.
