Trump Defies Founding Principle: Laws Over Men

President Donald Trump’s administration is pushing its agenda despite breaking core founding principles of the US. In an interview with Time magazine, Trump expressed doubts about the country being ruled by laws, not men.

When asked if he agreed that the US is a government “ruled by laws, not by men,” Trump replied, “I think we’re a government ruled by law, but you know, somebody has to administer the law.” He added, “So therefore, men, certainly, men and women, certainly play a role in it.”

Trump’s comments come as his administration continues to reinterpret centuries-old wartime powers to conduct mass deportations without due process. The president even expressed interest in deporting American citizens to foreign prisons, citing potential loopholes.

In one notable case, the Trump administration was ordered by the Supreme Court to facilitate the return of a wrongly deported Maryland man, Kilmar Abrego Garcia. However, Trump claimed he wasn’t in charge of complying with the court’s orders and left it to his lawyers.

Trump’s comments have sparked concerns about the erosion of US founding principles and the rule of law. As the president continues to push his agenda, many are left wondering if he truly believes in laws over men.
