Doom: The Dark Ages game director Hugo Martin has shared a new, premium single-player campaign that promises an immersive experience with 22 levels of incredible first-person shooter combat, gameplay innovations like the Shield Saw and flail, and an action-packed story to carry players through to the finish.
One of the standout features of Doom: The Dark Ages is its Cosmic Realm, a Lovecraftian dimension with cyclopean architecture that offers a unique experience for players. This realm is home to formidable enemies, including the Cosmic Baron, a twin-bladed brute who can block projectiles and rip through health with psionic attacks.
To counter these powerful foes, players will have access to new abilities, such as the Reaver Chainshot, an ancient iron mace of death that unleashes vicious long-range melee strikes. The game features fully dynamic lighting powered by raytracing, allowing for a smoother gaming experience at 60 fps on PlayStation 5.
Doom: The Dark Ages is set to release on May 15 for PlayStation 5, with the option to play early as part of the Premium Edition starting on May 13.
