McDonald’s is introducing a new permanent menu item, McCrispy Strips, which will be available in the US starting May 5. The chicken strips will be sold in orders of three or four and paired with a “savory, sweet and tangy” creamy chili sauce.
According to McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski, the demand for chicken strips has been remarkable, so the company decided to deliver a product that meets customer cravings. The McCrispy Strips consist of juicy 100% white meat coated in crispy golden-brown breading with a bold new black pepper flavor.
This launch marks the first new permanent menu item at McDonald’s in about four years and is part of the company’s effort to revamp its chicken offerings. In addition to the McCrispy Strips, McDonald’s plans to increase the availability of its McCrispy sandwich and introduce other chicken-based menu items, including Snack Wraps.
The company’s annual report highlights its commitment to meeting evolving customer preferences through planned innovations and new menu offerings. With the introduction of McCrispy Strips, McDonald’s aims to expand its chicken market share by 2026.
