Seahawks Add Defensive Depth with Rylie Mills Pick

The Seattle Seahawks bolstered their defensive line by selecting Notre Dame defensive tackle Rylie Mills in the fifth round of the NFL Draft. Mills, a 6-foot-5, 291-pound prospect, was ranked as the No. 11 defensive tackle and No. 117 overall pick. He offers rotational depth behind the team’s strong interior trio of Leonard Williams, Jarran Reed, and Byron Murphy II. Despite missing significant time due to an ACL injury, Mills’ college career was marked by impressive statistics, including 17 sacks and 26 tackles for loss over five years with Notre Dame. The Seahawks fill a need after veteran nose tackle Johnathan Hankins remains unsigned in free agency, following the departure of Roy Robertson-Harris to the New York Giants.
