Israel has intensified its attacks across Gaza, killing at least 50 Palestinians since dawn on Sunday. The latest strike targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut, sending huge plumes of smoke into the sky.
The Israeli military has also been shelling Gaza City and Khan Younis in eastern Gaza, with medical sources confirming that no casualties have been reported at this time. Additionally, an Israeli attack on displaced people’s tents in the al-Mawasi area killed two Palestinians and injured several others.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah MP Ibrahim Mousawi has dismissed Israel’s claim that a strike in Beirut targeted a facility storing precision missiles, saying it doesn’t add up. The MP claims the Israeli attack is part of its “war of extermination” against Palestinians.
The Gaza Government Media Office accuses Israel of systematically targeting civilians in Gaza as part of its “war of extermination”. The office reported 18,000 children, 12,400 women, 1,400 medics, 212 journalists, and 750 security officers who guarded aid convoys killed by Israel.
UN head of office Jonathan Whittall has described the situation in Gaza as an “assault on people’s dignity”, saying that malnutrition is rising due to the Israeli siege. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that the blockade has left people desperate and hungry, with aid being “weaponized” through its denial.
US Central Command claims that strikes in Yemen have killed hundreds of Houthi fighters and depleted their attacking capabilities, but this development comes as US attacks continue to kill civilians.
