Justin Bieber’s maternal grandfather, Bruce Dale, has passed away at the age of 80. The two-time Grammy winner took to Instagram on Saturday, April 26, to share a heartfelt tribute to his grandfather.
In an emotional post, Bieber shared fond memories of his grandfather, including buying him snacks as a kid and “heckling” referees during sporting events. He also thanked his grandparents for being supportive of his career, attending concerts and events for years.
Dale was married to Bieber’s grandmother, Diane Dale, and father to Candie Toper, Chris Mallette, Chris Dale, and Pattie Mallette – Bieber’s mother. He made appearances in both the 2011 film Never Say Never and the 2020 docuseries Justin Bieber: Seasons.
Bieber wrote a touching message to his grandfather, saying “I can’t wait to see you again soon in heaven.” He expressed that he would miss him dearly and look forward to seeing him watching over his family from above.
