The Chicago Bears have selected Rutgers University running back Kyle Monangai with the No. 233 overall pick in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Monangai, a two-time team captain, earned First-Team All-Big Ten Conference recognition in 2024 after rushing for a career-high 1,279 yards.

The 35-year-old Monangai has seen extensive action over his five seasons with Rutgers, starting 52 games and recording 3,221 yards on the ground. He holds several program records, including most touches without a fumble, and was named Second-Team All-Big Ten in 2023 after leading the conference with 1,262 yards.

A native of Roseland, N.J., Monangai had a successful high school career at Don Bosco Prep, where he guided his team to the NJSIAA Non-Public Group 4 Tournament final. He was named First Team All-Bergen County on offense as a senior and earned numerous awards throughout his collegiate career.

Monangai’s addition to the Bears’ roster marks an exciting opportunity for the veteran running back to continue his football journey in the NFL.
