DHL Reinstates High-Value US Deliveries After Customs Rule Adjustments

Delivery giant DHL has lifted its suspension of high-value shipments to the US, allowing packages worth over $800 to be delivered again. The decision comes after negotiations with the US government and customs authorities led to “adjustments” in customs rules.

The original suspension was imposed due to President Trump’s tariff policies, which resulted in tighter customs checks and a lower threshold for package entry into the country. However, DHL has now reinstated its services, saying it values the positive development and support from the federal government.

US Customs and Border Protection, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Commerce have been approached for comment on the matter. The reversal is part of ongoing efforts to resolve tensions between businesses and the White House over US tariff policies.

The changes in customs regulations will allow DHL to resume accepting business-to-consumer shipments with declared values exceeding $800 into the US.
