Don Pettit, America’s oldest astronaut, has returned to Earth after wrapping up a 7-month mission on the International Space Station. Pettit, an Oregon native, marked his 70th birthday while in space. Over four missions, he spent 590 days in space, placing him third on NASA’s all-time list.
In a recent interview with ABC, Pettit discussed what he learned from his experience in space. He shared that despite loving exploration and discovery, there comes a time to come home. Pettit expressed no intention of retiring, stating he wants to continue doing things that can only be done in space.
Pettit spoke about life on the ISS during an interview with KATU in October, discussing his experiments and demonstrating floating in space. This report is courtesy of ABC News.
