George Kittle Reaches Long-Term Deal with 49ers

George Kittle, the veteran tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, has signed a four-year contract extension worth $76.4 million to keep him with the team through the 2029 season. The deal includes $40 million in guaranteed money and will significantly reduce Kittle’s salary cap number in 2025.

Kittle, 31, had expressed his desire to spend his entire career with the 49ers since being drafted by the team as a fifth-round pick in 2017. The extension gives him a strong chance to join the 49ers’ exclusive 10-year club, which honors players who have played at least 10 consecutive seasons with the team.

Kittle’s impressive performance on the field has earned him numerous accolades, including six Pro Bowl selections and two All-Pro honors. He ranks among the league leaders in receiving yards per reception and is coming off one of his best seasons, when he had a standout year in 2024, ranking third among tight ends in receiving yards.

Colleagues praise Kittle’s dedication to his craft, saying he continues to improve with time, much like fine wine. The extension solidifies Kittle’s commitment to the team and sets him up for a strong chance to achieve his goal of playing for the 49ers for their entire career.
