Iran-Backed Houthis Launch Missiles at Israel

Iran-backed militant group the Houthi’s in Yemen launched two missiles towards Israel, but were intercepted by its military on Friday. The launch was claimed by the Houthis and targeted Ramat David air base and Tel Aviv area. Alarms sounded in several areas but there were no reports of damage or casualties.

The US has been intensifying its strikes against the Houthi’s in Yemen as President Donald Trump ordered large-scale strikes to reduce their capabilities and deter attacks on ships in the Red Sea. The Houthis claim their attacks are in solidarity with Palestinians over the Gaza conflict between Hamas and Israel.

In retaliation for a renewed Gaza offensive, the group pledged to expand its range of targets in Israel.
