Lando Norris Wins Miami Sprint After Safety Car Intervention

Lando Norris claimed victory in the Miami Sprint, benefiting from a late Safety Car to rejoin the track ahead of his teammate and early race leader Oscar Piastri. The Briton followed Piastri throughout the 18-lap race, pitting a lap later as intermediate tyres wilted on the drying surface. A collision between Fernando Alonso and Liam Lawson triggered the Safety Car call, allowing Norris to rejoin at a reduced pace and overtake Piastri.

Max Verstappen suffered a setback when he collided with polesitter Kimi Antonelli in the pit lane, resulting in a 10-second time penalty due to an unsafe release. Meanwhile, Oscar Piastri was left disappointed after a strategy call saw him continue behind Norris, citing his team’s “luck in Miami” as a factor.

The Miami Sprint also featured dramatic moments, including a collision between Verstappen and Antonelli that marred the event. Despite the setbacks, Norris emerged victorious, securing another win for McLaren in the process.
