Black-Eyed Susan Stakes Brings Fashion and Nostalgia to Pimlico

The 101st running of the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes took place at Pimlico, marking the last time races will be held at the historic track before a $1 million renovation. Attendees showcased their state pride through bold outfits and stylish accessories, with many expressing nostalgia for the event.

East Baltimore’s Eugene Ball attended the race, stating he had to come because it was his first year back since 1982. However, attendees also praised the Pimlico Black-Eyed Susan drink as a popular choice, describing its refreshing citrus flavor with a kick.

This weekend’s events will conclude the racing season at Pimlico before renovations begin. The race can be watched on CNBC and NBC at 4:00 p.m. ET, or streamed live on Peacock.
