US President Donald Trump has responded to criticism from rock star Bruce Springsteen, calling him “treasonous” and criticizing his skin in a Truth Social post.
Springsteen called the president “corrupt”, “incompetent”, and “treasonous” during the first show of his British tour this week. He also accused Mr. Trump’s administration of authoritarianism and rolling back civil rights.
The 75-year-old rocker criticized the president for blocking free speech, taking sadistic pleasure in hurting loyal American workers, and siding with dictators against allies fighting for freedom.
On Friday, President Trump responded on his social media platform, calling Springsteen “pushy”, “obnoxious”, and stating that he is “dumb as a rock”. He also criticized the singer’s skin.
This is not the first time Springsteen has targeted Mr. Trump’s policies during concerts. The rocker had previously called the president “moron” in 2016 and expressed doubt about his re-election prospects in 2020.
Springsteen will release a new album collection later this summer, including dozens of unheard tracks from previously unreleased records.
