Max Homa Surpasses Career Best with 6-Under 64 at PGA Championship

Max Homa made a strong comeback at the PGA Championship, posting a career-best major round of 6-under 64 in Round 2. After struggling on the back nine of Thursday’s round, Homa started the second round on the same stretch and got off to a great start, birdieing the par-4 10th and par-3 13th.

His highlight was nearly holing his tee shot on the challenging 347-yard, par-4 14th hole at Quail Hollow Club. This led to a birdie at the nearby par-5 15th, propelling him to 5 under for the round and 3 under overall in the championship.

Homa then chipped in for a birdie on the par-4 18th, turning in 6-under 30 after two pars to start the final stretch. He ended his second nine with two birdies and one bogey, bringing his total to 7-under 64 – his lowest round on Tour since August 2023.

This was Homa’s best-ever major championship round by three shots. At the end of Round 2, he signed off tied for third place, just three strokes behind the leader.
