Starmer Linked to Arson Investigation

A 21-year-old Ukrainian man, Roman Lavrynovych, has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with three counts of arson in connection to fires at properties linked to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. The incidents include a fire at the former home of Mr. Starmer in Kentish Town and a car set alight on the same street, where Mr. Starmer sold it to a neighbour last year.

Lavrynovych appeared in court with an interpreter and entered no pleas to the charges. He will next appear at the Old Bailey for a plea and trial preparation hearing on June 6th. The investigation is ongoing, with police stating that accelerant, possibly of a “slow burning nature”, was used in one of the fires.

Mr. Starmer’s home was damaged by fire, but no one was hurt. A car linked to him was also set alight four days earlier, and a small fire occurred at another property in Islington on Sunday. The Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terror Command is leading the investigation due to its high-profile connection to the Prime Minister.
