US Institutions’ Response to Trump’s Corruption Exposed

The recent conviction of a president who attempted to overturn the last election and is accused of soliciting favors from foreign countries has led to some surprising displays of backbone from US institutions. While some have shown measured self-interest, others have failed to stand up for themselves or anyone else.

Notably, figures like Bezos have been seen supporting an attempt to make a president above the law, sparking questions about their future authority in the country. Even Walmart and Harvard seem to be doing the right thing, leaving it hard to understand why others can’t follow suit. As the years go by, one wonders if institutions will continue to command respect despite having supported such a flagrant attempt at authoritarianism.
