The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced a plan to reduce flights at Newark Liberty International Airport due to ongoing delays and cancellations. The airport’s flight limit will be reduced from 40 landings per hour and 40 takeoffs per hour to 28 each per hour, effective May 28.
This measure aims to increase air space and runway availability, allowing for more reliable operations. The FAA plans to maintain this limit until June 15, when the runway construction project is completed. Starting October 25, flights will be allowed up to 34 landings per hour.
