Inclement weather has pushed back tee times for Saturday’s third round of the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club by more than three hours. The originally scheduled start time of 8:15 a.m. ET was suspended due to lightning, forcing players to adjust their plans.
The 74 players who made the cut will play off split tees on Nos. 1 and 10 in threesomes starting at 11:43 a.m. ET. Top contenders Jhonattan Vegas and Scottie Scheffler will tee off on No. 1, with Vega holding a two-stroke lead.
Other notable golfers such as Rory McIlroy, Max Homa, and Si Woo Kim will start on No. 1 at 1:44 p.m. ET, while Masters champion McIlroy will play alongside defending PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele on No. 10.
The course had been disrupted by heavy rain, with over four inches falling in practice rounds on Monday and Tuesday. The decision not to allow the field to play with preferred lies has also drawn criticism from some players.
