Scalabrine Slams Celtics Performance in Knicks Series

Celtics color commentator Brian Scalabrine has criticized the team’s performance in their recent Eastern Conference semifinals series against the New York Knicks. The series ended with a 119-81 blowout defeat for the Celtics.

Scalabrine, who won an NBA championship with the Celtics in 2008, believes that the team did not play to its potential and “cheated the game” by blowing leads in crucial games. He pointed out that the Celtics were clearly the better team in Games 1 and 2, but still lost due to defensive lapses.

Scalabrine’s criticism comes as the Celtics face an uncertain offseason, with star player Jayson Tatum set to miss most of next season after rupturing his Achilles tendon. The team is currently above the NBA’s second luxury tax apron heading into next year, making their situation even more precarious.
