Apple Unveils Enhanced CarPlay Ultra and iOS 18.5 Updates

Apple has officially launched its more advanced “CarPlay Ultra” feature, designed to provide greatly expanded functionality in cars. The update brings a consistent look and feel to the driving experience, integrating information from both the vehicle’s screens and an iPhone.

Key features of CarPlay Ultra include real-time content on instrument clusters, allowing drivers to display information from their phones alongside data from the vehicle. This includes options for displaying speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, and more.

Additionally, Apple has released iOS 18.5, which includes minor updates with changes, feature additions, and bug fixes. Other related operating system updates include iPadOS 18.5, watchOS 11.5, tvOS 18.5, and visionOS 2.5.

Apple is also preparing to launch mind-control support for iPhones through its partnership with neurotechnology startup Synchron. This technology aims to allow users with severe motor impairments to control their devices via neural signals detected by an implantable brain-computer device.

In preparation for the upcoming WWDC, Apple has announced a wide range of new accessibility features coming later this year. Rumors suggest that iOS 19 and related updates will bring many of these improvements.

Other notable announcements include enhanced calendar functionality through Apple’s acquisition of Mayday Labs, a new transfer tool for switching from Spotify to Apple Music, and a live stream of the WWDC keynote event on June 9.
