id Software has released its highly-anticipated game, DOOM: The Dark Ages, on multiple platforms including Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox PC/Microsoft Store, Steam, and Battle.net. For new players, it’s essential to know the following frequently asked questions to ensure a seamless gaming experience.
DOOM: The Dark Ages is available on several subscription services, including Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW, and Boosteroid. Players can also select from multiple languages, including English, French, Italian, German, Castilian Spanish, LatAm Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Japanese, Russian, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, and more.
To change the language setting on different platforms:
– On Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, and PlayStation 5, use system settings.
– On Steam, right-click DOOM: The Dark Ages in your Library, select properties, and choose a language from the dropdown menu.
– On Battle.net, go to Settings/Game Settings and select your preferred language.
Players who purchased the Premium Edition, Collector’s Edition, or Digital Upgrade product can access additional features by following these steps:
– On Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, PlayStation 5, and Battle.net, look for the DOOM: The Dark Ages Digital Artbook and Original Soundtrack application in your game library.
– On Steam, check your Tools library.
DOOM: The Dark Ages supports a range of hardware specifications, including NVIDIA GPUs with version 576.40 or higher installed and AMD GPUs with version 25.5.1 or higher installed. However, it does not currently support Path Tracing at launch, but this feature will be added soon.
While DOOM: The Dark Ages does not require a Bethesda.net account for gameplay, players can use one to unlock exclusive content, including Slayer skins made available through the Slayers Club and other licensed products.
The game is also available on xCloud (requires Game Pass Ultimate subscription), GeForce NOW, and will be released on Boosteroid soon. DOOM: The Dark Ages supports cross-ownership and cross-progression across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, xCloud, Battle.net, and Steam Deck-compatible platforms.
However, the game does not support play on Steam Deck due to hardware specifications. It can run on Intel Arc GPUs with 8GB or more dedicated VRAM if the system is running driver version 101.6793 or newer.
