A massive undersea volcano near Oregon is on high alert as scientists predict an eruption in 2025. Located 300 miles offshore, the Axial Seamount volcano has been growing since its last eruption in 2015 and shows signs of increased magma inflation. The Axial Seamount volcano has a history of frequent eruptions, with dating showing that it has erupted about 50 times over the last 800 years. Scientists are eager to study this natural laboratory to test theories and make safe predictions.
