Epic Games Sues Apple Over Fortnite App Store Rejection

Epic Games is taking its legal battle with Apple to the next level, filing a new court document to pressure the tech giant into allowing the popular game Fortnite onto the US App Store. The move comes after a recent court ruling that saw Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers rule that Apple was in “willful violation” of an injunction on anti-competitive pricing.

The ruling seemed to pave the way for Fortnite’s return to the App Store, as well as for other developers to offer alternative payment options in their apps. However, Apple has announced plans to appeal the decision, and now Epic Games is facing another setback: its game will be offline worldwide until Apple unblocks it.

According to Epic Games, Apple’s move is not a blanket ban on Fortnite, but rather an attempt to prevent the app from being released on other platforms. The company claims that Apple is trying to punish Epic by shutting out the US market, while also sending a message to other developers not to challenge Apple’s practices.
