Google has introduced a new subscription tier for its AI services called “Google AI Ultra,” priced at $249.99 per month. The plan offers exclusive access to the company’s latest AI products, including its flagship app Gemini with the newly-announced Gemini 2.5 Pro “DeepThink” mode. It also includes early access features to experimental projects such as Project Mariner and Veo 3, a video generation tool.
The Google AI Ultra plan is designed for users who want cutting-edge AI capabilities from the company. Josh Woodward, head of product incubator Google Labs and Gemini app, described it as a “VIP pass” for Google AI, offering a massive 30 terabytes of storage and access to premium features. The plan is available in the US starting Tuesday, with rollout to other countries planned for the coming months.
Google’s move into the subscription-based AI market comes as the company seeks to monetize its AI products and diversify revenue streams amid declining advertising revenue growth. The introduction of Google AI Ultra is seen as a response to the growing threat posed by rival chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which offers a $200 monthly plan for “scaled access” to its best models and tools.
