Halle Berry, 58, served on the 2025 Cannes Film Festival jury and opted for safety over style. Originally planning to wear a dress by Indian designer Gurav Gupta at the opening ceremony’s red carpet, Berry changed her plans due to the festival’s updated dress code.
The new rules include a ban on “voluminous outfits” with large trains, which Berry felt was too restrictive. Instead, she wore a black and white striped trapeze gown by Jacquemus, showing she can adapt to changing circumstances.
Berry also acknowledged another rule: no nudity, stating it’s probably a good rule as well. Her flexibility in navigating the new dress code reflects her willingness to respect the festival’s guidelines.
