Google Unveils Vibrant New Android 16 Interface for Pixel Devices

Google has started rolling out the colorful new Android 16 interface to beta testers, including eligible Pixel devices. The QPR1 update brings a fresh Material 3 design language with new visuals for the launcher, notifications, lock screen, and a redesigned quick settings page inspired by Apple’s iOS. Users can enroll in the Beta program to try the new look on their device.

Eligible devices include older models like the Pixel 6, as well as newer ones like the Pixel 9a. Once enrolled, eligible devices will receive an over-the-air update to the latest Beta version. If you’re already beta testing Android 16 but want to wait for the official launch, you can opt out of this release on the Android Beta website.

To get started with the new design, users can enroll their Pixel device through the Android Beta program and follow Google’s instructions. The update is expected to be followed by the full Android 16 launch in the fall, bringing a range of new features and improvements.
