Denzel Washington, the actor behind Spike Lee’s latest film “Highest 2 Lowest,” got into a heated confrontation with a pushy photographer on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. Video footage shows Washington pointing his finger and shouting at the photographer, demanding he stop. The incident began when the photographer attempted to take a photo of Washington, but he quickly became agitated and asked the man to pull his hands off.
Despite the tense moment, Washington’s night rebounded with the premiere of “Highest 2 Lowest,” which earned a standing ovation from the audience. The film itself has received praise for its strong third act, with critic Peter Debruge calling it a “film whose sensational third act more than justifies what might have seemed an unnecessary update.” Washington stars in the English-language remake of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 film “High and Low,” set in modern-day New York. The movie is set to be released in theaters on August 22 and stream on Apple TV+ starting September 5.
