10 Teams Voted Down NFL’s Tush Push Ban Proposal

The Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, and Tennessee Titans joined forces with six other teams to reject a proposed ban on the notorious “tush push” play in football. The teams that voted against the proposal include the Eagles, Ravens, Patriots, Jets, Lions, and Cardinals, as well as the Colts.

The decision not to ban the tush push means it will remain an option for players and coaches alike for at least another season. The Saints, who recently hired former Philadelphia offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their head coach, have a particularly notable stake in this issue due to Moore’s extensive experience with the play. However, despite connections between some teams and Philadelphia, neither the Browns nor other affected teams had direct ties to Moore or his past offenses.
