OpenAI is set to acquire a secretive AI device startup co-founded by Apple Inc. veteran Jony Ive in an all-stock deal worth nearly $6.5 billion. The acquisition will grant OpenAI a dedicated unit for developing AI-powered devices and secure the services of Ive and other former Apple designers behind iconic products such as the iPhone.
