Hollywood star Zachary Levi is facing a stark disconnect from some of his peers after vocal support for President-elect Donald Trump and controversial opinions. Five months after expressing his views, he has confirmed that some have chosen not to work with him.
Levi’s outspoken comments on COVID-19 vaccines and stage performer Gavin Creel’s death sparked criticism from fellow actors. Tony award-winning Broadway star Norbert Leo Butz and Laura Benanti were among those who publicly expressed their disapproval.
Despite the backlash, Levi remains open to revising his views. He admitted that some have chosen not to work with him due to his opinions, but expressed gratitude for potential new business opportunities from those on the opposite side of the political spectrum.
The Shazam star’s comments come after he appeared on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast in December, where he discussed the public reaction to his views. He downplayed the impact on his upcoming projects, stating that none had been compromised by the controversy.
Levi has maintained a long-standing support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who endorsed Trump in September. The actor has made headlines for sharing controversial opinions and later walking back some of them.
