A father, Eric Rodriguez, who is accused of shooting two Israeli embassy staffers outside a Washington, D.C., museum earlier this week has ties to the Democratic Party. According to his union and representative, Jesús “Chuy” García, Rodriguez served in the Iraq war and works at a Chicago VA hospital. On the day President Trump addressed Congress, Rodriguez denounced the administration’s treatment of veterans, stating that they are cutting jobs and funding from the VA system. His son, Elias, is facing multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree murder, after allegedly gunning down the embassy staffers as they left the museum. If convicted, Elias could face the death penalty. García has condemned the attack, calling it a senseless act of antisemitism and expressing his support for the victims.
