Xbox has launched a new app called Retro Classics, offering access to over 60 classic games from various platforms. Developed in collaboration with Antstream Arcade, this collection includes Activision titles like Pitfall, Commando, and Grand Prix, as well as other popular games. The app will expand over time to include more than 100 titles and offers cross-platform play across consoles, PC, and cloud-compatible devices.
Xbox’s Retro Classics is the latest step in its game preservation efforts, aiming to make classic gaming more accessible. Players can earn achievements and participate in challenges through modes like community challenges, competitive leaderboards, and high-score rankings. The full list of available games includes Atlantis, Boxing Bridge, Chopper Command, Grand Prix, and many others.
This move follows other recent announcements from companies focused on game preservation, including GOG’s digital games preservation program and Lost in Cult’s plan to release complete physical editions of games for offline play. More new titles have also been revealed for Xbox Game Pass, with some set to leave the service at the end of May.
