Kid Cudi Testifies at Diddy Trial Over Alleged Car Fire Plot

Kid Cudi took the stand on Thursday to recount his brief relationship with star witness Cassie Ventura and her claims that Sean Combs orchestrated her car’s explosion. The rapper, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, described how he met Ventura in 2010 over Thanksgiving dinner and began dating her soon after.

Mescudi claimed that when Ventura ended their relationship due to physical abuse by Combs, she confided in him about the situation. However, after they broke up, Ventura called Mescudi with concerns that Combs had discovered their relationship. Mescudi then learned from a former employee of Combs’ that Combs had asked her to go into his car.

Mescudi testified that he met with Combs at a private club in Los Angeles, where Combs allegedly told him that Mescudi’s car was his problem. When questioned by the prosecution about whether he knew Combs was behind the arson, Mescudi said he believed Combs was lying and had no knowledge of any potential accomplices.

The defense raised questions about Mescudi’s testimony, citing a lack of DNA evidence at the scene of the crime and Mescudi’s own claims that he left his front door unlocked. The prosecution will rely on the jury to infer that Combs was behind the plot based on Ventura’s and Mescudi’s testimonies.

Mescudi’s testimony is part of a broader case involving allegations of arson, racketeering, and other crimes against Sean Combs. Other witnesses have testified in the trial, including George Kaplan and Mylah Morales, who both had interactions with Ventura before her car was set on fire.
