Kid Cudi Testifies Against Sean Combs in Sex Trafficking Trial

Kid Cudi took the stand on Thursday morning in the trial of hip-hop mogul Sean Combs, testifying about threats, violence, and a break-in at his home. The musician recounted his brief relationship with Cassie Ventura, a star witness in the government’s sex trafficking case against Combs.

In 2010, Mescudi met Ventura through her label, and they developed feelings for each other. Around November 2011, Ventura confided in Mescudi that Combs was physically abusive. Mescudi stated he participated in several sexual performances with male escorts choreographed by Combs. However, he claimed he never witnessed any physical abuse from Ventura to him.

Mescudi testified about two incidents: a break-in at his home and a car fire. During the break-in, Ventura called Mescudi, saying Combs had found out about their relationship and asked Mescudi to pick her up. Mescudi reported finding unwrapped presents and his dog locked in the bathroom.

In January 2012, Mescudi’s Porsche caught fire after he received a phone call from his dog sitter. Police responded, but no one was charged with setting the car on fire despite DNA evidence found at the scene.

Mescudi believes Combs orchestrated both incidents, stating, “This is getting out of hand.” The two musicians discussed their relationships with Ventura before shaking hands. Later, Mescudi claimed Combs apologized for his actions several years later.
