SpaceX Dragon to Undock from ISS Today

NASA is live-streaming the undocking of its 32nd commercial resupply services mission, SpaceX Dragon, at 12:05 p.m. EDT today. The unpiloted spacecraft will depart the International Space Station’s Harmony module and fire thrusters for a safe distance away from orbiting complex.

The Dragon has been carrying about 6,700 pounds of crew supplies, science investigations, and equipment since April 22. It launched on April 21 on a Falcon 9 rocket from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

After undocking, the spacecraft will re-enter Earth’s atmosphere and splash down off the coast of California on May 25 at approximately 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Although NASA won’t stream the splashdown, updates will be posted on the agency’s space station blog.
