Netanyahu Slams UK, France, Canada Over Gaza Support

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has criticized the leaders of the UK, France, and Canada, accusing them of backing Hamas and fueling violence in Gaza. In a video statement, Netanyahu said that Hamas does not want a Palestinian state but rather the destruction of Israel.

Netanyahu claimed that the three countries’ support for the establishment of a Palestinian state gives Hamas “the ultimate prize”. He also criticized the UK’s decision to suspend trade talks with Israel, saying it was an example of “external pressure” being applied to his government.

In response to Netanyahu’s statement, the UK’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned antisemitic attacks and offered solidarity with the Jewish community. French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Hamas has thanked the three countries for rejecting its claim that Israel is waging a campaign of genocide and displacement against Palestinians in Gaza. The group called on Arab and Islamic countries, the European Union, and others to take action against what it described as “barbaric Zionist aggression”.
