Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. is expected to return from a nearly year-long left knee injury on Friday, as the team kicks off a three-game series against San Diego at home. After suffering an ACL tear in May 2023, Acuña underwent surgery and played six games in the minors to rehab his knee.
Acuña’s last season was limited to just 49 games due to the injury, but he showed flashes of his usual form with a .250 batting average, four home runs, and 16 stolen bases. The 2023 NL MVP winner is now poised to make a full return, having stolen 73 bases that year in an historic performance.
With a career total of 165 homers and 195 stolen bases in 722 games, Acuña is a force to be reckoned with on the field. He will look to lead the Braves as they take on San Diego this weekend.
